What an unusual year!

What an unusual year!

What an unusual year!

Sally and I are doing well and are using this season to deepen our relationships with some of the leaders we serve. Over the last few months we have visited churches in South Dakota, Montana, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma and this weekend we are in Florida. In each place we have watched God drawing His family together and activating His people to engage in this season of harvest. Despite the turmoil in the nations, we feel a great excitement and are expecting a wonderful year of witnessing God at work in the nations.

“We believe we are in the midst of the greatest revival in history and that the vehicle that will carry revival is family.”
Bill Johnson

One thing this pesky virus has taught us is to trust the means we have at our disposal. The shift to using the online tools we have available has been a steep learning curve but it has allowed us to maintain and even grow our connection with people around the world from the comfort of our dining room table. Last Saturday we spoke with leaders in Switzerland, France, South Africa and Australia all before lunch. Interesting that the dictionary definition of zoom is to “move or travel very quickly.”

While Zoom meetings and conferences will never replace the joy of gathering in the same room, we have watched the Father use this tool powerfully in the last few months. Jesus has done some wonderful things in the lives of His people as we minister despite the distance in the natural. The wonder of seeing the Holy Spirit impact people half a world away never gets old.

We are working to schedule our travel for next year. We know that we will be spending more time in the churches here in the States, and to prepare for that have traded our fifth wheel for a motor home to make the travel and setup a little easier on us. We already have several trips planned and we look forward to investing in the churches and leaders we work with.

We are also tentatively scheduling a few overseas trips, believing that some of the travel restrictions will lift in time. In February we help lead a Global Awakening trip to Israel and then in March we will lead another Global trip to Kenya. We are also hoping to take a team back to South Africa sometime in early May. If you have wanted to travel with us, this would be a great opportunity. For the Israel and Kenya trips apply online at globalawakening.com and for the South Africa trip you can fill out an application on our website, steveandsally.org.

Over the last couple of years we have had leaders from around the world ask us for more regular input to help them develop in their personal lives as well as in their gifts and calling. We have done this on an individual basis for most of our lives, but we feel the Holy Spirit pressing us to be more intentional in this next season. We are convinced that the revival and great harvest that we are beginning to experience will be carried and sustained by healthy multi-generational family relationships.

To meet this need we are working on developing a strategy for helping leaders both in the church and in the marketplace press in to all God has for them. The focus for this will be the importance of family and the double portion blessing available to us when multiple generations of leadership work in harmony. Pray with us as we launch this in the New Year; we are asking the Lord to connect us with people more deeply and strategically in this next season. If you would like more proactive involvement with us, please contact us and we’ll send you more information about what we are planning.

As we think of you today, we are so thankful for your faithfulness to Jesus in this season of harvest. We hear the Lord say that as you lean in to follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit, His grace and peace (will) be multiplied to you… (2 Pet 1:2). We declare this promise of abounding grace and favor over your lives and we also pray that with the favor will come the full provision for all He has called you to do. We know this available because God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work (2 Cor 9:8). We look forward to hearing the testimonies of His multiplied favor at work in your life.
