Years before I gave my life to the Lord, I was greatly impacted by the phrase Luke used to describe the life of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
“But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them
in her heart,” Luke 2:19.
I even ended up writing a story about Mary and her ponderings. She was not attempting to understand in the natural all of the things she had been told about this child. Instead, with the Lord, she was turning them over and over in her mind, seeking to know the heart of the Father.
As a Mother carries a child in her womb, she considers many things – “What is the call on their life?” “Will this child be one to love and serve the Lord passionately?” “How am I to Mother this child?” There are many things she ponders as she asks the Lord about their destiny.
Because a Mother has carried her child for many months within her very being, there is usually a very close connection/relationship between the Mother and child. The Mother in bringing her child up before the Father is setting a path for her child to walk – preparing them for a sweet, deep relationship with the Lord. This whole scenario is about “family.”
So, as this Mother’s day celebration approaches, let us, as a family, celebrate it together. We are living in an unusual season in which we have been given more time to spend at home together. Mothers, this has presented us each with some challenges but also an incredible opportunity to draw closer to each other. Use this time to enjoy the beauty of family.
Come on, Family, let’s celebrate!!
