Godly Wisdom

Godly Wisdom

Oh Father, as I think of all that is going on in the USA and the world right now I see a lack of wisdom, godly wisdom, and my heart cries out to You. Direct my intercession, Lord. Reveal to me how I am to pray; help me focus as I should and then stir in me a burning desire to see these requests come into being.

Wisdom is incredibly important and always has been. When Solomon asked You to bestow upon him Your wisdom (2 Chron 1:10-12), he wrote about what he was beginning to see and hear, revealing a depth of understanding not previously known. Though on occasion he, Solomon, strayed from that wisdom, his writing gave to us truths about a life of wisdom that, if lived out by us all, would change our direction and take us into choices that would honor You and bless mankind.

So, Lord, as Steve and I travel to many nations in the world, we ask for Your wisdom to lead us and, as we pray for these nations, that Your wisdom would give us insight into the needs of the peoples of those nations. We have been given a clear general direction by You, but we know that there are specifics in each people group that should be addressed. We ask You, Lord, to reveal to us those things that You would have us speak into from the wisdom You impart to us.

Proverbs tells us often, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Have we, the children of God, lost touch with godly wisdom, which would cause us to have great fear or reverence of the You, Lord. I truly see and hear a lack of fear of You, Lord, among the leadership of nations, as well as the commoners.
