In our culture February is a month when “love” is highlighted. Why? Because the 14th is the day we have labeled – Valentine’s Day – a day of hearts and flowers and chocolate! Right?
But as Christians we know that love is one of the most precious words in our vocabulary. Love is so deep and wide and high and long that it is hard to find words that can accurately define or explain it. We have come to understand it best by demonstrations. Rom. 5:8 states, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Christ’s love was perfect and complete; His love was expressed in the most powerful way possible. He gave His life for us, which assures us of forgiveness and of our heavenly home with Him.
And NOTHING can EVER separate us from Christ’s love! (Rom. 8:31-39)
We have confidence in this. But we can cooperate with the enemy by allowing negative things to control our thinking and become our focus.
We have a purpose and calling that is actually our identity – we are messengers of His love and His Truth. So, this February let us be reminded of this glorious mission and truly begin to live it out.
